The Toddler classroom is comprised of children aged 18 months to 24 months. The child to teacher ratio for this classroom is 5:1. Activities in this classroom are designed to be developmentally appropriate. Children are given much freedom to play and choose their activities during free time. Everything is new and exciting for this age and we make learning about the world fun and full of creativity!
Activities include daily review of the alphabet, counting to 10, colors and story time. We have a letter of the week which we review during each lesson, and we do daily activities with this letter. Other activities are developmentally appropriate while engaging the children's interest and enthusiasm. This age continues to lean more everyday as they are expanding their vocabulary and they begin using some words. They are able to recognize objects by name, and understand and respond to simple commands. Tuning fine and gross motor skills is an important part of development, so we are sure to incorporate these daily activities. In addition to Spanish, we are offering sign language at this level.
Our classroom motto is " I KNOW I CAN, I KNOW I CAN"!!! and the class is taught by Ms. Tempest Page who is currently working on her Associate Degree in Childhood Education and Ms. Sonya Martinez who is a Spanish native speaker from El Salvador.
